    Minister Suharso: Targets to Achieve Infrastructure Development

    Jakarta, Kabartujuhsatu.news,-Minister of National Development Planning attended Ministerial Meeting which held virtually, Monday (14/06/2021).

    The issues discussed at the meeting included the Review and Efforts to Achieve the Economic Infrastructure Development Goals for 2020-2024.

    Infrastructure development target in 2024 is focused on providing basic housing and settlement services, increasing regional connectivity and reducing logistics costs, providing sustainable raw water, providing energy and electricity.

    Major projects to achieve these targets include trans Sumatra toll road, the strategic issue is provision of land and funding schemes for the next stage.

    The second major project is the quality of regional roads, with the strategic issue of sustainability and expansion of the regional road grant program and APBN support for frontier, remote and underdeveloped areas.

    The third major project is urban mass public transportation with strategic issues of funding support schemes through the state budget and metropolitan urban transportation management institutions.

    The fourth major project is main port network, with the strategic issue of tariff reform based on the principle of cost recovery and port standardization which includes the depth of the Belawan Port channel, container terminal and Kuala Tanjung Port Area, and an integrated fishery transshipment port in Ambon Baru.

    The fifth major project is a power plant with strategic issues of completing electricity supply, providing new and renewable energy, financing schemes, and supporting electric mobility.

    The sixth major project is multipurpose reservoir, with strategic issues of completion of 46 priority reservoirs and integration with irrigation networks. Seventh, access to piped drinking water, the strategic issues are high idle capacity and PDAM tariffs that are not full cost recovery and institutional strengthening and regional SPAM financing.

    The Eighth major project is waste management, with the strategic issue of choosing the right waste management technology, as well as the capacity and commitment of local governments. The ninth major project is handling slum settlements, with strategic issues in handling integrated slum settlements and mixed used development. The tenth major project is one million urban flats, with strategic issues of financial sustainability and construction quality needs to be improved.
